INDIA SUGAR

CROP IMPACT- Dry, warm weather through north India sugarcane areas will favor
the harvest of old crop and the planting of new crop. Reports suggest that
sugar output for the current harvest will be below earlier estimates. This is
likely due to the poor early season rain over Maharashtra and vicinity.
Seasonally drier conditions through southern India sugarcane areas will favor
this part of the crop, after early season rains.
